Antique George III Mahogany Tallboy Chest of 7 Drawers. Early 1800s
A handsome George III mahogany tallboy dating from the early 19th century, offering generous storage, elegant proportions and the quiet confidence that only genuinely old furniture possesses. Beautifully made from solid mahogany and mellowed by more than two centuries of use, it is equally at home in a country cottage, period townhouse or contemporary interior.
Constructed in two sections beneath a removable moulded cornice, the chest is fitted with two short drawers above six long graduated drawers, retaining its elegant brass swan-neck handles and standing on traditional bracket feet.
The rich colour and beautifully figured mahogany have developed a warm patina over time, giving the piece a depth and character that simply cannot be recreated. Practical as well as decorative, it offers excellent storage while bringing craftsmanship and history into everyday living.
